Fluid Catalytic Cracking Catalytic cracking
involves the conversion of vacuum gas oil into lighter products. These include
gas, LPG, gasoline and distillates. The products from this process are high in
olefins. Catalytic cracking can take a variety of different
feedstocks. Depending on the type of unit, catalyst used and operating
parameters, a different split of products can be obtained. Typical
operating parameters are temperature 500° - 540° C (reactor section),
680° - 720 °C (regenerator section) and pressure of 1 - 3 barg.
